The pandemic-delayed Dream Home Lottery is officially underway.
Tickets for the 26th annual fundraiser went on sale Tuesday morning.
Executive Director Kathy Alexander said this year's lottery is more important than ever.
"The pandemic has really had a huge impact on our fundraising efforts," said Alexander. "As the lottery has always been historically our biggest fundraiser for the hospital and we're hopeful this year it will continue to do that."
She said proceeds from the lottery will be shared with the Petrolia CEEH Foundation, supporting the highest priority needs at both Bluewater Health sites.
"For the Sarnia site we are actively starting to fundraise for a new lab for Bluewater Health in Sarnia," she said. "That's a very substantial investment and we are relying very greatly on community generosity to help us with that."
Over the last 25 years, the lottery has raised over $7.4 million for Bluewater Health's Sarnia and Petrolia hospitals.
Tickets this year will only be available through the foundation's website or by phone at 1-844-667-3251.
Tours of 4096 Ernest St. in Petrolia will be done virtually this year.
The home, valued at over $536,000, was built by Sepe Construction and designed by D. Janzen Interiors.
