Suspect identified in armed robbery at Sarnia residence Sunday

Sarnia police have identified a suspect arrested in connection with an armed robbery Sunday.

Luis Enrique Hernandez, 25, of Sarnia, is charged with robbery with a handgun, pointing a firearm, and break and enter to a dwelling house.

Police said a residence in the 800 block of Wellington Street was broken into at around noon.

They said the victim told them that he was awakened by an intruder pointing a gun at his head demanding certain items.

Police said the suspect, who the victim knew, found what he was looking for and left with no one being injured.

About an hour later, a suspect was arrested without incident in the 400 block of Kathleen Avenue and a replica pellet handgun was seized.

Hernandez was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
