A 20-year-old Sarnia man is charged in connection with an assault with a weapon Monday night.
Sarnia police were called to a home in the 800 block of Michigan Avenue at around 11:10 p.m.
Police say an 18-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries after being assaulted with a large sharp instrument.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and released.
Police were on scene until 11 a.m. Tuesday and during the investigation determined the complainant and victim knew each other and the assault was about an ongoing issue.
Matthew Brayden Sylvester is to appear in court on December 12 on a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
