Wednesday, October 21 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day.
Children and parents are urged to say a special 'thank you' to the many dedicated bus drivers who make sure students arrive safely at school each day.
Chatham-Kent Lambton Administrative School Services (CLASS) is also encouraging everyone to recognize the importance of school bus safety within our communities.
National School Bus Safety Week (October 19-23) is a public education program that's observed in October each year throughout North America.
This year's theme is "Red Lights Mean Stop."
“This annual observance is a great opportunity for each of us to pause and reflect on the importance of school bus safety as well as recognizing the diligent work of our school bus drivers and operators, especially during these challenging pandemic times, "said Kent Orr, CLASS general manager. “We ask that our students and parents join us in showing our appreciation to the women and men who keep our students safe on the ride to school and back home every day.”
CLASS is a shared services consortium, which provides bus transportation each day to more than 17,000 students of the Lambton Kent and St. Clair Catholic district school boards, across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.
