Lambton Ford launches vehicle raffle to support Noelle's Gift

Like many other charities, Noelle's Gift has been struggling to raise money this year due to COVID-19 and Lambton Ford is stepping up to help with the cause.

The Sarnia car dealership officially launched a car raffle Thursday, with the hope of raising about $50,000.

Residents have the chance to win either a Ford Edge or Ford Ranger 4x4 or a secondary prize of $5,000 in cash.

Noelle's sister Nicole Paquette is thankful for the generosity.

"We're super grateful to Rob (Ravensberg) and his staff for all of their support. With everything that's been going on and us having to cancel all of our fundraisers, we're probably down about $100,000. This will help us out quite a bit."

President Rob Ravensberg said Lambton Ford was missing doing community events this year.

"We try to do our part through the year, so I know a lot of people I've talked to are quite excited about this event," said Ravensberg. "The team from Noelle's Gift has done a really good job with this, they stepped up and made a big commitment doing it. Now it's time for us to do our thing from the community and support it."

Tickets are $100, or available with a vehicle purchase and the draw will take place on December 11 which was Noelle's birthday.

Nicole said Noelle's Gift has some other fundraisers coming up including a virtual night run in October, and a fitness day in May 2021 which could generate $40,000 through sponsorships.

Noelle's Gift was established in memory of Noelle Paquette, a former kindergarten teacher with St. Clair Catholic District School Board, who was killed in January of 2013. The charity has raised $1.6 million since its inception.

Funds raised support youth programs across Lambton-Kent, and with supplies like food, shoes, clothes, medication wheelchairs and eyeglasses.
