The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority issued a flood watch Friday afternoon.
The authority said a multi-cell system moving across southern Ontario has brought upwards of 30 millimetres of rain in the past 24 hours and another 10 to 30 millimetres is expected along with strong winds.
Some minor flooding is possible.
Gusty winds over Lake Huron will be southwesterly early Saturday morning and then shift westerly and northwesterly during the day. The authority said residents along the shoreline, especially near Ipperwash Beach and in the Old Lakeshore Road area of Bright's Grove, may experience increased wave action and erosion.
The winds are expected to decrease Sunday afternoon.
Residents are reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to slippery banks and swift-moving water.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority also posted a flood safety message Friday afternoon.
