Fraud-related charges against a Sarnia police officer in connection with off-duty conduct, have been withdrawn.
After receiving a complaint about one of its members in May, 2020, the Sarnia Police Service asked the Chatham-Kent Police Service to conduct an investigation.
As a result, an officer was charged on Monday, August 24, 2020 with uttering a forged document, forgery and attempted fraud.
The name of the officer was not released at the time to protect the identity of the complainant.
The charges were withdrawn on October 26, 2021.
