Two Sarnia police officers have been recognized for tracking down a stolen bicycle and arresting a suspect.
Officers Isaac Baird and Dylan White set up surveillance a few days after locating the bike based on the thorough description given by the owner.
They saw a 43-year-old man trying to ride away, and took him into custody without incident.
The officers were sent a thank you letter from the owner and were recognized for their efforts by Chief Norm Hansen.
Police said the owner of the bicycle didn't want them to pursue charges.
CORRECTION: BlackburnNews.com mistakenly reported that the bicycle was the one stolen previously off the back of a vehicle with family members in it. This, in fact, was a separate incident and the correction has been made in the above article.
