Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton is building a home in Petrolia for a family of Kurdish/Syrian refugees.
The three bedroom residence at 4158 James St. will be the organization's 65th build and the sixth in the Hard Oil Town.
The town donated the land for the home which will be turned over in December when the build is complete.
At a virtual groundbreaking ceremony Thursday morning, Kasra Mohammad said they are forever grateful to Habitat for Humanity and the community.

"The Habitat journey was the light, the hope and the sense of security that we never had," said Mohammad. "This experience got us through our most vulnerable moment, and I can't thank you enough from the bottom of my heart. A special thank you to this wonderful organization, I can't even find the words to describe my gratitude for me and my family."
Habitat Board Chair and President Donald Haagsma said each build is a complete community effort.
"Every home that we build or renovate represents the coming together of corporations, businesses, community groups, faith communities, construction companies, contractors, small business owners and individual donors who have donated their hard earned money or discounted or donated construction materials in support of our mission."
About 150 volunteers will fundraise and help with construction activities at the home.
