Without discussion, Sarnia council unanimously approved the installation of a new accessible canoe and kayak launch at Sarnia Bay Monday morning.
JS Marine was awarded the job, estimated to cost $75,000.
Staff said in their report to council that the company was the only Ontario dealer known to provide the system that's AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliant.

Sarnia council has renewed its pound services agreement with the Sarnia and District Humane Society for another 10 years.
For the past 30 years, the city has partnered with the society to deliver animal control services to the community.
The agreement ensures the continuation of the partnership in support of vulnerable animals in Sarnia-Lambton.

$50,000 has been allocated from the Business Park Reserve fund to advance a traffic impact study of the Research Park lands off Modeland Road.
The study is hoped to help unlock the lands for development.
It will predict the traffic volumes that will trigger various capital investments required to gain support from the Ministry of Transportation (MTO).

Sarnia council has asked staff to assess traffic patterns at the intersection of Brock Street and London Road.
Councillor Brian White asked for the assessment after watching security camera footage from a resident at a home that faces the intersection.
He said the resident posts almost daily occurrences on social media of near miss accidents.
Staff have agreed to review the footage and report back with collision data and recommendations.
