Michigan's St. Clair County Sheriff's Office says the body of a man found in the St. Clair River Monday has been identified.
Using dental records, the county medical examiner confirmed it's the body of a 31-year-old Port Huron Township man.
Larod Denate Smith was reported missing from his home on April 1.
His body was located in the river near the mouth of the Black River by a boater May 25 and was recovered by the U.S. Coast Guard and Port Huron Fire Department.
The medical examiner's office was still awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause of death.
On April 2, the sheriff's dive team and firefighters responded to reports of someone jumping into the river at Vantage Point in downtown Port Huron.
Smith's vehicle was located nearby.
Crews used sonar equipment to search the river for three days but nothing was found.
