Sarnia compost site to open May 4

Sarnia's compost site is to open Monday, May 4.

The city said it will operate from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday to Friday but will not be open Saturdays until further notice.

Possible delays at the St. Andrew Street site are expected due to limited access at the gates. Acceptable items for drop-off include yard waste, grass clippings, and brush.

As usual yard waste and grass clippings can be dropped off for free, and brush drop-off fees will be temporarily waived. Residents are encouraged to use the curbside brush collection that's scheduled the week of May 18, 2020.

Mulch, wood chip, and compost sales are temporarily suspended while a new payment system is developed.
