Three alleged impaired drivers arrested by Lambton OPP

Lambton OPP officers continue to crack down on alcohol and drug-impaired driving.

Police made three arrests over the past few days, with two of the incidents involving crashes.

At around 8:25 p.m. on April 23, officers responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Churchill Line in Warwick Township.

The driver, who was the lone occupant, was allegedly showing signs of impairment and was arrested. Police allege he blew over the legal limit at OPP Headquarters.

A 40-year-old London man is charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He will appear in Sarnia court on July 27, 2020.

On April 24, OPP said a man fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash on King Street West in Forest.

Police said they found a suspect at his residence, and allege he was impaired.

After taking breath tests, the 68-year-old Warwick Township man was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He will appear in Sarnia court on July 27, 2020.

Also on April 24, Lambton OPP pulled over a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Nauvoo Road in Brooke-Alvinston.

The driver allegedly failed a roadside screening device, and two more breath samples were also over the legal limit.

A 40-year-old Bothwell man is charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He will appear in Sarnia court on July 27, 2020.
