A Grand Bend home was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon.
The Grand Bend and Northville stations responded to Ontario Street, between Green Acres Crescent and Lakeview Avenue, at around 2 p.m.
Lambton Shores Fire Chief Lawrence Swift said damage to the older wood-frame house is estimated at $200,000.
"When we arrived on scene it was fully involved, there was fire on all three floors, the basement and the two storeys of the house," said Swift. "So the house is a total loss while the structure is still standing, it was burnt out throughout the house probably before we even arrived on scene."
Swift said the lone resident was not at home at the time and no injuries are reported.
The cause is still under investigation.
"We have found the origin in the house, that being the area in the house where the fire started. The cause still requires a little bit further information," he said.
Lambton OPP also responded to the fire.
