Impaired driving charge laid in single vehicle crash

A 51-year-old Sarnia man is charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday evening on Petrolia Line in St. Clair Township.

Lambton OPP arrived at the scene just after 6 p.m. to find a vehicle in the ditch.

Police allege the driver was showing signs of impairment. He was arrested and taken to the Lambton OPP detachment for a drug recognition evaluation.

The man is charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He will appear in Sarnia court on July 13, 2020.
