The Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA) is stepping up its job action.
The union announced on Tuesday the start of rotating one-day strikes beginning Monday, February 24.
Teachers with the St. Clair Catholic District School Board are included in Monday's rotation, along with five others.
OECTA represents 790 permanent and occasional teachers with the local Catholic board.
Meanwhile, at the request of a mediator, the union's provincial bargaining team will meet with representatives of the government and the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association Wednesday to continue negotiations.
A province-wide strike is still set for Friday by all of the four major teachers' unions.
According to the unions, it’s the first time they have all conducted this kind of job action on the same day since they protested the cuts to education by the then Harris government.
