A 38-year-old Hamilton man faces trafficking and impaired by drug charges after being arrested by Sarnia police.
Police responded to a tip about a vehicle swerving erratically on London Line at around 4:45 p.m. on December 19.
A suspect vehicle was found in a motel parking lot with its engine running, reverse lights on, and a man passed out behind the wheel.
An officer called for an ambulance and then used his baton to break the passenger side window, after which the man woke up.
About 1.6 grams of cocaine was allegedly seized from the suspect's wallet, as well as a cigarette pack containing a glass vial of .075 grams of hydromorphone, and three glass vials and two clear Ziplock bags with a total of 6 grams of powdered Fentanyl.
The Fentanyl had a street value of $3,000 and the cocaine had a value of $160.
Kevin Cabral was released on an undertaking on charges of drug impaired driving, possession of cocaine and hydromorphone, and possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for one week.
