Rood, a third-generation farmer and businesswoman from Grand Bend, easily retained the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex seat for the Conservatives in last October's federal election.
She won close to 50 per cent of the vote following the retirement of 13-year veteran member Bev Shipley.
