There's been a significant cocaine bust at the Blue Water Bridge for the second time in just under a month.
Canada Border Services said officers referred a tractor trailer to secondary inspection on December 2.
They examined the vehicle and allegedly 50 bricks of suspected cocaine in the cab, weighing about 50 kilograms.
The CBSA seized the suspected cocaine and arrested the driver. The RCMP attended and took custody of the subject and evidence.
Daniel Leduc, 55 of Quebec, is charged with importation of a controlled substance, and possession for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in Sarnia court on December 16.
This investigation is continuing and is being led by the London RCMP Border Integrity Team.
There was also a cocaine seizure at the Blue Water Bridge on November 18.
At that time, 50 packages of suspected cocaine were recovered, weighing about 50 kilograms in total. A man from Markham was charged.
