It's been slow going for the Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign.
The yearly fundraising effort is up only 3.5 per cent from last week, sitting at 47 per cent, or $900,000 of the $1.9 million target.
Executive Director Dave Brown said they're trailing a little behind last year's pace.
"We were hoping to be over the 50 per cent mark by now and we are about three per cent off that so we are starting to get concerned," said Brown. "We still have lots of time and we've got follow up letters to those people who have given through the mail or online in previous years but not yet this year, and we are trying to continue to service as many of the employee campaigns as we can, including doing presentations."
There are seven weeks left in the campaign.

Brown said the St. Clair Catholic District School Board also wrapped up it's campaign last week and they're still waiting for those totals. He said Shell Canada, INEOS Styrolutions and Imperial are also wrapping up soon.
In 2018, the local campaign fell short of its fundraising goal for the first time in 20 years.
Money raised will benefit 18 local agencies that provide 36 programs and services.
