A new Sarnia website, designed to be a one-stop-shop for all things health and community related, has seen more than 4,000 visitors since it launched back in June.
Age-Friendly Sarnia-Lambton allows users to access information about local health services, transportation, housing, and more.
Coordinator Amy Weiler said the site is certainly filling a need in the community.
"So we've had some great statistics back on the use of the site with visitors searching through a variety of topics, but the most searched topics are transportation and housing," said Weiler. "We see the need as clients looking for services and supports to either stay at home longer or battle social isolation. We also have conducted training for service workers who are frontline working with the community members to provide someone who may not be tech savvy with the information they need."
Weiler said the site is constantly being updated with new service listings to improve the user experience.
"It really is a place where the Sarnia-Lambton community can go and find information on a number of services, on how to get involved in the community, and a variety of other topics, and those are all organized around the pillars of what makes a community age-friendly according to the World Health Organization."
Weiler said anyone in the community can recommend a local business or organization to be put on the site.
