The Sarnia Sting have signed 18-year-old defenceman Justin Nolet to a Standard Player Agreement.
He was chosen by the Sting in the 14th round of the 2017 OHL Draft.
This season, the 5' 11", 181 pound Mississauga native has three goals and six assists in nine games with the OJHL's Toronto Patriots. He put up nine goals and 15 helpers in 49 games with the Patriots last season.
Prior to joining the Patriots, Nolet skated for his hometown Mississauga Senators at the minor midget level, and was a member of the Senators at the OHL Cup in the 2016-17 season, along with teammate Anthony Tabak.
Sting General Manager Nick Sinclair comments on today’s signing, "Justin is extremely well deserving of this opportunity. He has done everything we have asked of him in the last two seasons, and he has continued to develop at a high level and quickly became an elite defenceman in the OJHL. We now look forward to helping push his development to the next stage at the OHL level."
The Sting return to action on Friday night at home to the Barrie Colts on CHOK.
