United Way campaign nears 30 per cent mark

This year's Sarnia-Lambton United Way campaign is nearing the 30 per cent mark.

Executive Director Dave Brown said through three weeks they've raised $500,000, or 26 per cent of the $1.9 million goal.

"At this point the campaign is looking pretty strong," said Brown. We got positive momentum, we got some new enthusiasm some new events so we're excited about that. Still a long way to go, two thirds of the way yet to go, but early indications are looking positive."

Brown said tickets for the Locally Lambton Dinner October 19, are 50 per cent sold at this point.

The United Way helps fund 18 local agencies providing 36 community programs and services.
