The Sarnia Sting's 14th annual Black and White game in support of the United Way is this Wednesday night.
Resource Development Manager Rebecca Brander said the event is the unofficial kickoff of their campaign season.
"It's going to feature a number of current Sting players and sting prospects, all of them are vying for a roster spot, so this is the last game before they actually make those cuts," said Brander. "We're really excited that the Sarnia Sting have teamed up with us once again for this great event."
Brander said $45,000 has been raised for the United Way since the game's inception.
Admission donations and proceeds from the 50/50 draw, jersey raffle and lineup sheet sales will help fund over 30 programs and services in Sarnia-Lambton.
The game starts at 7 p.m.
The United Way campaign officially kicks off with the annual Day of Caring on September 10.
The organization has set a "needs target" of $1.9 million this year.
