Oil Springs is celebrating the 1860's black gold rush.
The annual festival is on at the Oil Museum of Canada Sunday, July 14.
Highlights include horse and wagon rides, face painting, blacksmith demonstrations and a virtual reality exhibit.
Spokesperson Christina Sydorko said admission is free.
"We want to make it accessible to everyone," said Sydorko. "We do normally charge admission here at the museum, but on this day we want everybody to come out and celebrate the wonderful history we have here at Black Gold Fest. Our museum will be open and we have many different exhibitors doing displays."
Black Gold Fest runs from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m at the Oil Museum of Canada on Kelly Road.
