The Sarnia Police Service said Betty Parke moved to the city earlier this year and was last seen walking south on Vidal Street from Davis Street.
Police did not say how long she had been missing, but she has since been located.
The police are thanking the public for its help.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
