Police arrest second suspect wanted for armed robberies

Two days after issuing a warrant for his arrest, a Sarnia man has been taken into custody in connection with a pair of armed convenience store robberies.

Andrew Stirling, 40, of Sarnia was arrested on Thursday. He is charged with two counts of robbery with a weapon in connection with a convenience store robbery on Petrolia Line in Petrolia on May 14, and another on Wellington Street in the City of Sarnia two days later.

The Ontario Provincial Police along with the Sarnia Police Service also arrested 46-year-old John Dobbie of Sarnia for the same robberies on May 18. He has been charged with two counts of robbery with a weapon, two counts of using a disguise with intent and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court on May 24.
