Sarnia police are forewarning drivers of increased traffic enforcement in the Wellington Street and Finch Drive area.
Police are responding to complaints of speeding vehicles, especially in that part of the city.
Cst. Nelson Amaral said they set up their speed trailer in front of the YMCA Jerry McCaw Family Centre earlier in the week. He said the device reminds drivers of the posted speed limit and shows how fast they're going.
"It's a great tool to check your speed, but just a hint, if you ever do see that speed trailer, it's usually in response to complaints we're getting in a certain area," said Amaral. "So right now the complaint area is Finch and Wellington, and don't be surprised if we see actual speed enforcement."
Amaral said they're getting more complaints on Finch Drive than Wellington Street, but the whole general area has been an issue for speeding.
Speeding fines can range anywhere from $40 to $10,000 for stunt driving.
