Over 1,600 fish entered in annual Salmon Derby

It was a chilly day for anglers on the final day of the 43rd Annual Bluewater Anglers Salmon Derby Sunday.

There were 49 fish entered in Sarnia on the final day of the derby and 36 in Port Franks for a 10-day total of 1,622 fish.

The unofficial winners are:

Robert Brunet of Sarnia in the Salmon category with a 19.01 lb. Salmon. Brian Bubreuvil of Sarnia in the Trout-Boat Category with a 9.90 lb Rainbow Trout Harry Harris of Sarnia in the Trout-Shore category with a 7.40 Rainbow Trout. Justin Tadgell of Grand Bend in the Lake Trout category with a 20.36 Lake Trout. Tammy Milne of Lambton Shores in the Walleye category with a 7.56 lb. Walleye. Evan Hanington of Ailsa Craig is the Kids Big Fish winner with a 15.44 lb Salmon. The Daily Draw Prize winners are Tod Williams of London and Eric Foren of Wallaceburg.

The results are unofficial until after the Salmon Derby Committee review and approval meeting Tuesday evening.

The awards will be handed out at the Salmon Derby Awards Night on Wednesday, May 22.
