Salmon Derby results for day four

For the second day in a row, there’s a new leader in the Rainbow Trout-Boat category at the Bluewater Anglers Salmon Derby.

Brian Bubreuvil of Sarnia reeled in a 9.90 lb Rainbow Trout.

The other leaders remain unchanged:

Robert Brunet of Sarnia in the Salmon category with a 19.01 lb. Salmon. Sara Lapish of Sarnia in the Trout-Shore category with a 7.06 lb. Rainbow Trout. Ryan Henry of Kettle Point in the Lake Trout category with a 18.18 lb. Lake Trout. Tammy Milne of Lambton Shores in the Walleye category with a 7.56 lb. Walleye. The Ladies Day Largest Fish was caught by Lisa Tadgell of Port Franks, a 14.92 lb Lake Trout. The Daily Big Fish winner was Justin Tadgell of Grand Bend with a 14.60 lb Lake Trout.

The Daily Draw Prize winners are Adam Weed of Wyoming and Leamington's Cam Adamson.

There were 65 fish entered in Sarnia and 93 in Port Franks for a four day total of 749.

The derby wraps up on Sunday, May 12.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
