Allen Wells (photo via Facebook)A well known and respected former educator in Sarnia-Lambton has died.
Allen Wells passed away in Oshawa on Sunday.
Born in Alberta, Wells taught in Sierra Leone and Barbados before coming to Sarnia in 1955.
He served as director of the public school board in Lambton County, administrator of Community Awareness Emergency Response, taught at Lambton College, and held numerous volunteer positions.
There will be no funeral, but a memorial service is being planned.
Wells was 88.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
