Environmental stewards are being recognized by the City of Sarnia.
Nominations are being accepted for this year's Go Green Awards.
Councillor Brian White said the awards program recognizes residents and groups that make a positive contribution to improving the environment.
He said there are six categories, including small and medium businesses, eco-warrior and youth group.
"One of the categories that we really love is greenest classroom," said White. "That's a way that we find teachers engage students in environmentalism. They usually take on small projects that could turn into lifelong lessons that the students can grow up and use in their adulthood."
Nomination forms are available on the city's website at www.sarnia.ca in the News Centre, until Friday, April 12.
The winners will be announced on Earth Day April 22.
