Changes to OSAP focus of college open house

Secondary students worried about how they will pay for college, after recent changes were announced by the Ford Tories, are invited to an information open house.

Lambton College is hosting its Spring Open House Saturday, March 30.

Internal Enrollment Advisor Shawn Fowler said changes to OSAP for the 2019-2020 academic year will be discussed.

"There has been some changes announced to OSAP and how students might be funding their education," said Fowler. "So we are hosting two OSAP and financial aid info sessions to really help students get the answers to the questions that they have about OSAP and other changes, and also other financing opportunities. Whether it be scholarships, bursaries or on-campus employment, our financial aid specialists will be able to answer all those questions and really make sure students are aware that going to school is still financially feasible."

The open house is on from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Fowler said the information sessions are at 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Students will also be able to tour the campus, including the new state of the art facilities.

Fowler said there's also the opportunity for a lucky student to win free tuition for a year.
