Peter Mansbridge will headline Lambton College's third annual President's Gala.
The college has announced that the anchor of CBC's The National for 29 years will be the guest speaker at the event set for Saturday, May 11.
Lambton College Foundation Director Marc Guilbeault said they hope this will be the most successful gala yet, raising in excess of $75,000.
"I think he's reflective of Canadian heritage and he's certainly supportive of post-secondary education," said Guilbeault. "He's certainly a fitting Canadian icon to headline this year."
Mansbridge's stellar career spanned five decades.
In addition to his keynote address, the President's Gala at the college will feature a gourmet dinner, live music, and silent auctions.
Tickets are $250 and go on sale March 18.

Proceeds support the college's new facilities including the NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre that's to officially open with a ceremony May 15.
