Nominations open for Sarnia-Lambton Green Party

The Sarnia-Lambton Green Party is looking for a candidate to represent them in this fall's federal election.

Local party Chief Executive Officer Kevin Shaw said they'll be accepting nominations until March 15.

"We're looking for someone that's obviously community minded and is well entrenched and knowledgeable about the Sarnia-Lambton area," said Shaw. "Someone that's well rounded, background in industry, someone that knows a lot of people that's connected with a lot of energy and passion for the environment and for the economy and can understand that all of those things need to go together to move our area forward."

Shaw said they hope to hold a nomination meeting in early April.

The 43rd Canadian federal election is scheduled to take place on, or before, October 21.

Community activist, scientist and engineer Peter Smith ran for the Green Party in Sarnia-Lambton in the last federal election in 2015.

Interested individuals are asked to email Shaw at kevin.shaw@greenparty.ca for more information.
