The number one industry in Sarnia-Lambton continues to grow with the aging population.
The Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board is holding a career fair on Tuesday, February 26 that's focusing on the health care and social assistance fields.
Executive Director Laura Greaves said it's a chance for students and job seekers to see what opportunities are available with a number of local employers.
"We have home care providers, we have Bayshore Home Care Solutions we have CarePartners, March of Dimes, the County of Lambton will be there, we have someone from the LHIN, CMHA and Lambton Mental Wellness Centre, so a few mental health partners," said Greaves. "The Physician Recruitment Taskforce and the Alzheimer Society will also be there."
Greaves said it's not your typical job fair.
"It's not really an event to bring your resume and to do interviews on the spot," said Greaves. "It's more a chance to learn about what the opportunities are in the field, to discuss entry-level positions, hours of work, maybe some questions about rate of pay and certainly opportunities for advancement."
The career fair is at the Lambton College Event Centre from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
