For the third time in as many weeks we're being told to expect some freezing rain. Environment Canada updated its special weather statement Tuesday afternoon, saying the event is expected to be brief, and patchy this time. Precipitation will begin as light snow and ice pellets Wednesday morning, changing to freezing rain Wednesday afternoon. Freezing rain or freezing drizzle will change to occasional rain or drizzle late in the afternoon as the temperature rises above zero. The weather agency said Tuesday afternoon the freezing rain is expected to be patchy, and may not last the two hours required for a freezing rain warning. Gusty southeast winds will develop and untreated surfaces may become icy, affecting travel. Temperatures for the rest of the week are expected to be above zero, reaching 5 C, 41 F, on the weekend.
