The City of Sarnia has recruited a new director of finance.
Suzanna Dieleman has been appointed to the position and will start on February 25.
Interim Chief Administrative Officer and outgoing Finance Director Lisa Armstrong says Dieleman has been the director of finance and treasurer with the Township of Malahide in Elgin County since 2013.
She has also worked in municipal administration for the Townships of Southwold and Bayham.
Armstrong says Dieleman is a chartered professional accountant with a diploma in public administration, and is working on her masters in the field.
She says Dieleman is also a member of the board of directors for the Municipal Finance Officers Association.
Armstrong submitted her resignation in December saying after three years of working for the city, she recognized that the political environment was not for her.
Her last day is February 22.
