On the heels of a prolonged cold snap, Oil Springs Ollie saw his shadow Saturday morning at Canatara Park, predicting another six weeks of winter.
Ollie's ceremonial Ground Hog Day prognostication was held in Sarnia this year, at the park's Children's Animal Farm before a crowd of about 200 people.
Mayor Mike Bradley was there and said not to blame Ollie.
BREAKING NEWS: Oil Springs Ollie Saw his shadow so there will be 6 more weeks of winter. Don't blame Ollie the rodent weather forecaster. The weather is a federal responsibility so blame them along with anything else you want to throw into the mix. pic.twitter.com/WbETImamGP

Bradley also quipped that Ollie predicted the Maple Leafs would win the Stanley Cup so he's not sure how reliable a forecaster is he.
Ollie's more experienced counterpart in Wiarton, however, did not see his shadow. Willie said there will be an early spring. -With files from Rick Burrows
