A special weather statement has been issued for Sarnia-Lambton.
Environment Canada said we're going to see a mixed bag of precipitation Tuesday night with snow and freezing rain, ahead of a brief thaw with strong winds and rain.
The national weather agency said a Colorado low will track northeast across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay overnight Tuesday bringing the dramatic change in the weather along with it.
Most areas can expect between two and five centimetres of snow which will change over to a period of freezing rain later tonight, which Environment Canada said could last for several hours.
Gusty southerly winds topping 80 km/h are also expected Wednesday.
Environment Canada said meteorologists continue to monitor the situation and freezing rain warnings are possible tonight as the event draws closer.
