City launches post election survey

Voter turnout in Sarnia the last municipal election was up by nearly 12 per cent, but the city wants to know what voters thought of the experience.

It was the first time ballots were cast either online or by phone in Sarnia.

Deputy City Clerk James Jenkins said the city is conducting a post-election survey to see what residents thought about the different voting methods.

He said the 13 question survey should only take about five minutes to complete.

"Council wants to get a better idea of the voting experience," said Jenkins. "It will help them, as they move eventually, towards the 2022 municipal election in determining what voting methods we'll use for that election ."

The survey is available in local newspapers and on the city's website until January 29.
