The Sarnia Sting will have Jamieson Rees back in the line-up on Thursday night, as they travel to Saginaw to face the division rival Spirit.
The sophomore forward has played just three games this season, scoring a goal and adding two assists.
The 17-year-old 2017 first-round pick played his last contest on September 29 against the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds before being diagnosed with a lacerated kidney.
Co-Owner and Associate Coach David Legwand said they've missed Rees all over the ice.
"His compete level is unbelievable, it's in the upper echelon of anyone in the league that I've seen," said Legwand. "His will to win a puck in a battle is second to none and in his offensive game he can create something out of nothing sometimes. He's relentless, he plays that way and I think everyone sees it and reads off of it. We're excited as anyone to have him back."
The Sting have played well as of late, having won two of three games on their eastern road trip this past weekend.
They're in a three-way tie with Kitchener and Windsor for sixth place in the Western Conference with 26 points.
Sarnia will host the Flint Firebirds on Friday night, and travel to London on Sunday afternoon.
