There were several collisions around Sarnia-Lambton Tuesday after just a couple of centimetres of light snow fell overnight.
Lambton OPP say a car and pick-up truck collided on Discovery Line just before 7:30 a.m., between Oil Heritage Road and Tank Street.
Police say the pick-up truck struck a hydro pole, and the road was closed while Bluewater Power crews made repairs.
The driver of the truck was sent to hospital with minor injuries.
Sarnia police Cst. John Sottosanti said Modeland Road, in particular, was a problem area in the city.
"Sarnia police officers have responded to a number of minor collisions where individuals have either slid off the road, or minor fender benders," said Sottosanti. "We're asking the public to remember that winter is here, and whether it's snow, rain, or sleet, the temperatures are dropping and they will freeze on the road."
Sarnia Superintendent of Roads Tony D’Agostini said salting operations began Tuesday morning.
A number of vehicles also slid into the ditch Tuesday morning along Lasalle Line, Oil Heritage Road and Discovery Line.
No serious injuries were reported.
Police remind drivers to slow down and adjust to changing weather conditions.
