The Oshawa Generals scored three unanswered goals in the third period enroute to a 7-4 victory over the Sarnia Sting at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena Friday.
Nando Eggenberger opened the scoring for the visitors at the 5:59 mark of the opening period.
Seven minutes later Sarnia's Kelton Hatcher tied the game with a short handed goal before Allan McShane and Eggeneberger scored for Niagara giving the Generals a 3-1 lead after one.
Ryan McGregor (power play) and Ashton Reesor, his first career OHL goal, scored in the second period to tie the game at threes.
Nick Wong scored for Oshawa with 34 seconds left in the period but Sarnia's Hugo Leufvenius tied it up again 19 seconds later.
It was all Oshawa in the final period with goals from Wong, Eggenberger and Jack Studnicka.
It was the Sting's seventh straight loss and associate coach Brad Staubitz said the team's confidence is waning. "We're giving up way too many goals. Their confidence is down and they've got to build that up. It starts with the simple things first. Derion (Hatcher) went over with them that it's not easy getting over these losses. It's the work and consistent work they need to put in."
Ethan Langevin stopped 24 of 30 shots for Sarnia while Kyle Keyser made 35 saves for the Generals.
Sarnia is home to the Peterborough Petes Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The pregame show starts at 6:35 p.m. on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.
