A local non-profit that provides high schoolers with free prom and graduation dresses has handed over the "glass slipper" to another Sarnia organization.
The Cinderella Story of Sarnia-Lambton officially transferred control of the popular program to Sarnia-Lambton Rebound on Monday night.
Cinderella Story founder Debbie Anderson stepped down earlier this year to pursue other interests.
Rebound Executive Director Carrie McEachran said they'll look to continue the work the Cinderella Project started.
"It was really important for us to ensure that this project stayed within the community. We support so many girls that have used the project and it's just something that is so needed," she said.
McEachran said the Cinderella Project fits in perfectly with Rebound's mission of being a caring partner in the successful development of youth.
Since 2009, The Cinderella Story of Sarnia-Lambton has provided a free graduation or prom dress for more than 600 girls.
