Gasoline prices actually dropped below a dollar a litre Monday morning at some stations in Sarnia.
Earlier this fall BlackburnNews.com reported that multiple factors were pushing prices at the pumps down.
Gasbuddy.com Senior Analyst Dan McTeague said the Ontario government's removal of the cap and trade tax accounts for a decrease of about five cents per litre, and the autumn shift from summer to winter gasoline blends nets out to a decrease of about four cents.
He noted that mini gas wars in markets also come into play.
In London Monday, prices were 5 cents to 10 cents a litre higher.
