Cars and guitars at Mitton Village

An advisory committee formed earlier this year to breathe new life into Sarnia's Mitton Village is looking for public input.

The committee is hosting a cars and guitars event Saturday, featuring a show and shine and live acoustic music.

City councillor and committee member Brian White said the main focus of the event is to discuss what needs to happen in Mitton Village.

"It's an opportunity for folks across the city to get together and discuss what the issues are that we currently face in the village, but also what we think the village could be in the future," he said. "It's the start of this engagement process that is really the purpose for this committee."

The free event goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the municipal street parking lot at 135 Mitton St. S behind the Shoppers Drug Mart.

White said everyone is welcome to attend.

"If you like nice cars, and you want to listen to some great acoustic music, come on down and enjoy yourself. As well, please come with your ideas to share, and we'll make Mitton Village a walkable, wonderful community for everybody," he said.

White said there will be similar events in the near future focusing on Mitton Village.
