Heat Warning For Back To School

It will be a scorcher when the kids head back to school this week.

Environment Canada issued a heat warning for Sarnia-Lambton Sunday.

The weather agency says a hot and humid airmass will affect the region through at least Wednesday. Maximum daytime temperatures of 31 C are generally expected Monday through Wednesday with humidex values near 40 C. Overnight minimum temperatures will likely remain near 21 degrees providing little relief from the heat.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible each day which could prevent maximum daytime highs reaching 31 C every day in every area. However, maximum daily humidex values are still expected to be near 40 C.

A cold front is expected Wednesday, which should provide relief from the heat and humidity.
