The group known as the "Cross Country Grandpas" is back in Ontario following a 7,500 km bike ride across Canada.
The foursome, all in their 70s, embarked on a nearly three-month-long journey back in May and raised over $15,000 for charity in the process.
They travelled from Victoria, BC all the way to St. John's, NFLD, biking about 100 km daily.
Sarnia's Mike Tanner says it was an awesome, once in a lifetime, adventure.
"We spent 80 days riding across Canada, and it was a great cycling adventure," says Tanner. "It was certainly a personal challenge for me just to undertake this. It was a road trip with five old guys riding across Canada in a trailer. It was just a great way to see Canada from coast to coast."
Tanner says the weather was mostly favourable. It was cold at times but only rained for four out of the 80 days.
Tanner peddled in memory of his late wife, Dr. Linda Bowring, an early pioneer in the field of end of life care, and was raising money for Palliative Care and St. Joseph's Hospice.
He says they were also raising funds for Indigenous Healing, ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and Developing World Connections in Guatemala.
Tanner was joined on the trek by Elio Zanella, Volkmar Bandermann, and John Greven.
Sarnia's John Damoiseaux joined the ride in North Bay.
