Brock St. Barn Bash Friday

Sarnia residents have the chance to see major upgrades at Sarnia Arena while rocking out to local music.

The Brock St. Barn Bash is set for August 17, featuring Scott Manery and the Barn Burners.

Parks and Rec Director Rob Harwood says proceeds support the ongoing revitalization project, which is costing upwards of $1.5-million.

"We did put a new flat roof on the building, we've got new HVAC in the community hall and in the lobby area," says Harwood. "We've done new LED ice lighting and all through the lobby is LED lighting as well. There's a new sound system in there with a little bit of help from the Legion, flooring, accessible doorways, and accessible concession stands."

Harwood says a lot of the money has been graciously donated by local community groups.

He says they would still like to raise another $70,000 toward spectator heating.

The cost for the family-friendly event is $5 per ticket.

It goes from 6pm until 11pm.
